TELEMEDICINE PROJECT

Telemedicine Project, Punjab was launched on pilot basis at the three Hospitals of Punjab with the aid of ISRO and the assistance of PGIMER using Satellite technology (V-SAT) on 13.04.2005:

  1. MataKaushalaya Hospital, Patiala
  2. Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dasuya (Hoshiarpur)
  3. Sub-Divisional Hospital, Ajnala (Amritsar)

After the success of first phase, project was extended to rest of the hospitals. Currently under Punjab telemedicine project, there are 27 nodes in total (1 PGI, 3 GMCs, 20 District Hospitals, 2 SDH) and PHSC, Mohali as the monitoring cell. 22 nodes are connected to Medical Colleges & PGIMER for consultation.

The implementation of Telemedicine has been done using a web based application e-Sanjeevani developed by C-DAC, Mohali. The project is with PHSC, Mohali since March 2010. Telemedicine Sites in Punjab are:
